Gainesville-  Florida gymnastics received good news on Tuesday. NCAA qualifier Rachel Slocum has enrolled at the University of Florida and will be eligible to compete for the upcoming 2017 season.

Slocum transfers from Eastern Michigan and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Slocum qualified for the NCAA Championships after posting a 9.90 score on the floor in the Ann Arbor regional of the NCAA tournament.

“We think Rachel will fit right in with the Gators,” said Florida head coach Jenny Rowland.

Slocum is from Holly Springs, NC and could make an immediate impact for the Gators.
