GAINESVILLE, FL- The Florida Gators defeated Alabama in straight sets on Senior Day Sunday. The Gators celebrated the final home weekend of lone senior, three-time All-American, Alex Holston (Florida does have one more midweek home match on the year).
Florida has swept it’s last eight matches this season and improves to 24-2 and 14-1 in SEC play. Alabama falls to 17-11 overall and 6-9 during SEC action.
Defense was the key as Florida held Alabama to a .000 hitting percentage.
Florida’s Rhamat Alhassan, Carli Snyder, and Alex Holston combined for 33 kills. Alhassan added a match-high 14 points.
