The New York Mets’ #4 prospect has gotten off to a fast start since his promotion to Triple-A Las Vegas on June 14.
Peter Alonso has recorded a base hit in six of his first seven games. On Saturday, Alonso hit his first career Triple-A home run against the Reno Aces.

Alonso drove the first pitch of his second at-bat against Reno lefty Alex Young over the centerfield wall for a solo homer that tied the game at two.
Since arriving in Las Vegas, Alonso has hit at a .273 clip in the 6 games (22 AB) to go along with four RBI prior to Saturday’s contest. Alonso hit fourth in his Triple-A debut, but has found a home in the three spot since.
Alonso earned a promotion after 71 games in Binghamton, NY. Alonso was hitting .310 while leading the league with 15 homers at the time of his promotion.
UPDATE: Alonso finished the game 3-5 with a whopping three homers and seven RBI in the 51s 14-11 win.
Alonso’s second and third shots were off Reno releiver Bradin Hagens. His sixth inning bomb was a grand slam that brought the 51s within one run of the Aces.
The eighth inning blast was a two-run shot that provided necessary insurance runs and extended the lead to 14-11.
