Florida recently announced that they would be playing a home and home with Colorado as well. Clearly, the prospect of taking on Texas is a much more enticing series for fans and media alike.
Florida first faced Texas on Oct. 25, 1924, when they ended in a 7-7 draw. The Longhorns won the only other two matchups in 1939 (12-0) and 1940 (26-0). The Gators will be hungry and looking for their first and second wins against the storied program from Austin.
