
According to a TMZ Sports report, former Florida Gators WR Reche Caldwell, 41, was shot and killed in Tampa on Saturday.

The report cites Caldwell’s mother and girlfriend and claims that the six year NFL veteran was ambushed by a couple of people trying to rob him.
Caldwell was shot in the leg and chest and passed away in the ambulance, according to Deborah Caldwell, Reche’s mother.
Caldwell attended the University of Florida from 1999-2001 before being selected in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers.
At UF, Caldwell hauled in 141 receptions for 2,088 yards and 18 touchdowns.
