Final: Stetson 6, Florida 1

Following a one hour and fifteen minute rain delay, Florida’s bat struggled to get going as the team dropped a 6-1 decision to Stetson on Tuesday in DeLand.
Florida opened the scoring as Jacob Young plated Kirby McMullen on an RBI groundout.
The Gators kept the slim lead until the seventh inning when the Hatters finally evened the score. Despite entering with the bases loaded in a tie ballgame, Christian Scott entered and immediately struck out the first three batters he faced.
However, Stetson bounced back again and added five runs to the scoreboard in the eighth to put the game out of reach for the Gators.
On the mound, Brandon Sproat earned his first career start and despite the no-decision, he pitched really well. In four innings, the flamethrower allowed just one hit and a walk while striking out two.
Florida falls to 33-15 overall on the season and are now 7-9 in road games.
