The Florida women’s basketball team secured a decisive victory over Mississippi State on Sunday, clinching a 90-70 win on the road in Starkville, MS.

Led by standout performances from guard Leilani Correa, who scored a game-high 29 points, and guard Zippy Broughton, who contributedwith 16 points and six assists, the Gators dominated both ends of the court.

Florida’s stifling defense held the Bulldogs to just 46% shooting from the field, while the Gators capitalized on their offensive opportunities, shooting 61% from the floor. Florida was especially hot from the field in the first half where they converted 70% of their attempts.

Despite an early fourth quarter push from MSU, fueled by forward Jessica Carter’s 16-point effort, the Bulldogs were unable to overcome Florida’s early lead.

With this victory, the Gators improve to a 13-9 overall record with a 4-6 mark in SEC play. Florida returns to Exactech Arena Thursday to face Ole Miss. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM with the game being aired on SEC Network+.
