Although securing a series win over the No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide, the No. 13 Gators fell in the last game of the series Sunday.
The Crimson Tide (20-4, 1-2 SEC) avoided a sweep on eight hits and three runs to the Gators’ (21-4, 2-1 SEC) five hits and no runs.
Alabama’s runs came in the first, fourth and sixth innings on an RBI single, home run and another RBI single.
Starting pitcher Keagan Rothrock finished with eight hits, three runs, two walks and two strikeouts.
The Gators totaled five hits but didn’t score a runner in Sunday’s contest.
Florida tried for a rally in the top of the seventh inning but failed to plate any runs.
The Gators are back at home Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
