Although most University of Florida students are relaxing this week on spring break, the No. 10 UF softball team is back on the grind in Gainesville.
Coming off a series win in Tuscaloosa, the Gators (22-4) scored 11 runs on 11 hits in their 11-2 win over the Stetson Hatters (9-16) at home Wednesday evening.
Reigning D1 Softball National Freshman of the Week Ava Brown made the start in the circle and threw four innings with two hits and two runs. She also recorded four walks and three strikeouts.
In an unusual relief appearance, Keagan Rothrock finished the game in the fifth inning with two strikeouts.
The Hatters struck first with a one run lead after a sacrifice fly in the first inning.
The Gators added one of their own in the first on Jocelyn Ericksonβs RBI single.
Katie Kistler made her presence known with a five RBI day.
She hit a two run double to give the Gators a 3-1 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth, Kistler blasted one out of Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium to score three.
Stetson added one in the fourth, too. However, it was a lost cause.
Reagan Walsh went yard twice with solo shots in the third and fourth innings.
The Gators run-ruled the Hatters for their 22nd win of the season.
