The No. 10 Florida Gators bounced right back to even the series 1-1 against the No. 17 Mississippi State Bulldogs.
The first runs of the game came in the bottom of the first when the Bulldogs (25-8, 6-5 SEC) took a 2-0 lead.
The Gators (30-5, 6-2 SEC) put runs on the board and took the lead when catcher Jocelyn Erickson hit a three-run home run in the top of the fourth.
In her next at bat in the sixth, Erickson homered again. She drove in herself and Korbe Otis.
She totaled 5 RBI in the win against the Bulldogs.
With the 5-2 lead, the Gators added two more before Ava Brown homered, as well.
Florida went into the seventh inning with a 8-2 lead.
The Bulldogs chipped away at the lead slightly but were unable to take the lead.
Mississippi State added three more in the seventh but fell short of a comeback and handed the Gators a win to even the series.
Keagan Rothrock along with Katie Kistlerโs extraordinary play halted any hopes of a Bulldog rally.
The Gators and Bulldogs will compete Saturday at 1 p.m. to claim the series win in Starkville.
