The No. 6 Gators dropped game one against Mizzou (13-18, 2-8 SEC) by a score of 2-1 in 11 innings Friday night. Despite strong bullpen outings from Fisher and McNeillie, the offense only produced two hits on the night to drop the series opening game.

Mizzou got on the board first in the first inning to go up 1-0.

Brandon Neely threw five innings and finished with three strikeouts and Cade Fisher took over in the sixth. Fisher was very effective out of the bullpen, throwing four strikeouts in two innings.

The Gators got their second hit of the night and were finally able to get on the board in the eighth inning. Luke Heyman hit a solo homerun to tie the game 1-1.

Luke McNeillie continued his strong SEC play with four strikeouts in the eighth and ninth to send the game into extra innings.

Both teams couldn’t get anything going in the 10th, but in the 11th, the Tigers walked it off with a single. Final score, the Gators lose 2-1 in 11 innings and drop game one.

Game two will be at 4 p.m. Saturday.
