After a five-inning loss earlier in the week, the No. 12 Gators came into Athens ready to blow off some steam.
And they did just that, as Florida (38-11, 13-6 SEC) routed No. 11 Georgia in the first of three games.
After being named to the NFCA DI Freshman of the Year Top 25, Keagan Rothrock earned her nineteenth win in the Gators’ 9-1 win over the Bulldogs (36-12, 10-9 SEC).
Although walking five batters, she threw five complete innings with two hits and one earned run.
Florida’s offense was rolling and scored in every inning except the second.
Ava Brown, Jocelyn Erickson and Skylar Wallace led the team with two RBIs a piece.
Brown scored her own two RBIs in the first on a single.
Erickson doubled in the first to score the first run before hitting a sacrifice fly to score another in the fourth.
Wallace hit an RBI single in the fourth to score two before stealing home in that same inning.
She led the team with two steals, as the Gators totaled five.
Florida will go for the series win Saturday at 11 a.m.
