Despite good outings from the Gator’s pitching staff, the offense struggled to produce runs, only getting three runs on the night. They drop game one to the Razorbacks 2-1.

Pierce Coppola provided a strong start for the Gators, striking out all three batters he faced in the first inning. Arkansas got on the board with a solo homerun in the second to go up 1-0.

The Gators finally got on the board in the seventh on a throwing error by the Razorback’s first baseman, allowing Heyman to score and tie it 1-1.

McNeillie entered in the bottom of the seventh and struck out the three batters he faced to keep it a tie game.

Despite loading the bases in the eighth, the Gators could not take advantage. Arkansas added on another in the bottom of the eighth, leading 2-1.

The Gators offense continued to struggle and find a response for a comeback, losing 2-1. They fall to 21-20, 8-11 SEC.
