Gainesville- According to a source of Robbie Andreu of the Gainesville Sun, Florida WR Antonio Callaway will be cleared to play in the Gators season opener on September 3 against UMASS.
Andreu’s source also stated that the issue that has kept Callaway suspended since January may not be completely resolved prior to the opener, but Callaway should be eligible.
Callaway was the Gators’ leading receiver in 2015 as a true freshman with 35 catches for 678 yards and four receiving touchdowns. He also scored two touchdowns on kick returns and was named an All-American as a return specialist by CBS Sports.
