Gainesville, FL-  The Florida Gators soccer team was upset by the Auburn Tigers on Thursday night at Pressly Stadium.  The Gators offense was sloppy with numerous offensive zone turnovers, and the defense looked even worse.  Auburn was led by Kristen Dodson who scored two goals off defensive, and goalkeeper miscues.  Florida outshot Auburn 16-13, but both teams had four shots on net.  Florida is now 6-3 overall and 1-2 in SEC play.  Auburn improves to 6-4 on the year with a 2-1 record in SEC play.

In the 18th minute Auburn was awarded a penalty kick, but Brooke Ramsier’s shot missed the net high.  Auburn did score in the 24th minute when Dodson converted an easy opportunity after Florida keeper Kaylan Marckese misplayed a pass to a Gator defender.  The game remained 1-0 until well after halftime.  Auburn scored in the 83rd minute when Courtney Schell scored on a header off a corner kick. Two minutes later Dodson added her fifth goal of the season as Marckese ran to almost midfield to clear the ball, but Dodson blocked the clear attempt and scored an easy goal into the empty net from near midfield.  The goal was the result of a poor touch by Gator midfielder/defender Gabby Seiler.
