Multiple sources are claiming that Florida football will in fact play against LSU this season.
According to the SEC, Florida will play at LSU on November 19, 2016. Florida will forfeit two home games this season (including the originally scheduled Presbyterian game), but the Gators will play against LSU at home in 2017 and 2018.
Gators head coach Jim McElwain told reporters on Wednesday that reports of UF not wanting to play LSU were erroneous and stated that the Gators will play “anyone, anywhere.”
LSU was consistent in guaranteeing they would not lose a home game on November 19. Florida has announced that the game will start no later than 3:30 PM.
“The conference office asked us to find a solution in working with LSU, yet LSU was never a true partner in our discussions.”–Jeremy Foley
