FINAL: FLORIDA 76, MERCER 54

JACKSONVILLE, FL-  The Florida Gators defeated the Mercer Bears on Sunday night at Jacksonville Veterans Arena.  The Gators swept two games in Jacksonville over the weekend while waiting for the O’Connell Center renovations to be completed.
Justin Leon led the Gators with a career high 17 points, while Keyvaughn Allen added 13.  Devin Robinson added 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Florida shot only 33% in the first half, but thanks to numerous second opportunities that the Gators capitalized on, led by twenty two at half.

Florida started out fast and led by as many as 24, but Mercer kept hitting shots to close the gap.  However, the Gators never let them get the lead below double digits.

Florida improves to 2-0 while Mercer falls to 1-1.  Florida will continue barnstorming the state of Florida, and will play St. Bonaventure in Lakeland on Thursday.
