Kyle Trask out 4-6 weeks with torn meniscus

Feliepe Franks appeared to have the upper hand in the Florida quarterback battle after the annual Orange and Blue Debut. On Wednesday, we may have found out why.

Nick De La Torre of GatorCountry.com first reported that Kyle Trask will undergo surgery for a torn meniscus. Trask is expected to be out four to six weeks.

With Luke Del Rio already sidelined, Florida is severely lacking in the position heading into fall camp.

There have been multiple reports that former Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire and the Florida coaching staff have mutual interest. Zaire has recently followed many of Florida’s playmakers on Instagram prompting even more rumors of his inevitable transfer.

The only hurdle Zaire is facing is the SEC policy regarding graduate transfers meeting certain requirements. Under current rules Florida is unable to take on a graduate transfer, but SEC commissioner Greg Sankey has shown a desire to change this rule.

Obviously Florida coaches and Zaire hope that changes.
