Ronni Williams was selected with the 22nd overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft on Wednesday. Williams was selected by the Indiana Fever. Williams becomes the 18th former Gator selected in the WNBA or the now defunct ABL drafts.

Williams became the first Gator to lead the SEC in scoring by averaging 20.1 points during SEC play. Williams led Florida in scoring for three straight seasons and finished with more than 1,400 points and 800 career rebounds.

Williams was a 2017 honorable mention All-American.

Williams is the first Gator to be picked in the WNBA draft since 2013 when Jennifer George was drafted 31st overall, also by Indiana. Williams is also the earliest drafted Gator since 2004 when Vanessa Hayden was taken seventh overall.

Williams’ father, Rodney played basketball at Florida in the early 80s.
