Florida volleyball head coach Mary Wise added a piece of hardware to her mantle on Thursday by being named the National Coach of the Year by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. On Saturday, Wise hopes to hoist the National Champions trophy for the first time of her career.

Wise has guided the Gators to a 29-1 record and a trip to Kansas City for the Final Four. Florida has also compiled a 7-1 record against nationally ranked teams. Florida will look to earn a berth into the National Championship match Thursday night.

Wise has previously won the AVCA National Coach of the Year on two occasions, 1992 and 1996.
