The Florida volleyball team is now 2-0 in the SEC and 11-3 overall after Sunday’s win over Mississippi State. The Gators swept the Bulldogs in three sets, making this the third Florida sweep in the team’s last four matches. This is also the 26th straight year where the Gators hold a 2-0 record in SEC Play
The Gators started off strong, hitting a .524 clip and 12 kills. Taelor Kellum and Mia Sokolowski had four apiece and Paige Hammons ended the set with two. Mississippi State committed 13 errors in the set and Florida took the set 25-12.
A slightly less impressive .405 hitting percentage made for a less handy win for Florida. Hammons made six kills and Kellum, Holly Carlton, and Thayer Hall each added three. The Gators pulled this one out 25-21.
Florida hit a low .167 in this set, but it was enough for the sweep. Eight Mississippi State errors turned into points for the Gators. Hammons notched three kills and Hall posted two.
