The Florida Gators softball team announced a major addition to the program on Friday.
Catcher Kendyl Lindaman has signed to play with the Gators for her final two years of eligibility and will be immediately eligible for Florida.
Lindaman is the two-time reining Big Ten Player of the Year after crushing 40 homers and 131 RBI in her first two years of collegiate softball.
As a freshman with the University of Minnesota, Lindaman crushed multiple program records including the home run (for a frosh), and single-season slugging percentage.
Lindaman will make an immediate impact in the middle of the Florida lineup as she has hit for a .393 average while walking 118 times while only striking out 33 times over two seasons. Lindaman also has catches a solid game having made only 10 errors in two years and registering a .988 fielding percentage.
Welcome to the Gator Nation, Kendyl! We can’t wait to see you hit inside that new ballpark.
