Florida RHP Christian Scott was named the SEC Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Scott made two appearances out of the Gators’ bullpen this week, throwing eight solid innings while only yielding a single, unearned, run.
In Florida’s 4-2 victory over rival FSU on Tuesday, Scott earned the win out of the bullpen by pitching 3.1 scorless innings during the Gators’ comeback.
On Saturday, Scott tossed 4.2 innings, giving up only one hit and an unearned run to Alabama.
Overall, Scott has appeared in 9 contests and holds a 1.71 ERA in 21 innings of work. Scott has limited basrunners, having only allowed five free passes this season.
The Gators will face Florida A&M in midweek action before traveling to Mississippi for an SEC series against the Rebels that opens Friday.
