The acquisition of Tim Brewster is already paying dividends for the Florida Gators football program. The newly added tight ends coach is credited with landing the highly sought after talents of Gage Wilcox out of Jefferson High School in Tampa, Florida. The 6’4″ 228-pound tight end is the 248-rated prospect in the 2021 class.
Landing the 4-star commitment gives the Gators a 2021 class score of 213.14 and positions them just behind Ohio State with the second-ranked class in the nation. Wilcox has a 247Sports composite rating of 0.9090 and is expected to climb before national signing day. The talented athlete recorded a 4.80 forty time at The Opening Regional as well as a 34.60″ vertical leap.
Just as important as landing this commitment is the fact that the Gators beat out programs such as Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, and Florida State to earn it. Florida has slowly and methodically improved their recruiting efforts and that could spell danger for the rest of the nation.
