Florida head coach Dan Mullen spoke to the media Monday afternoon and offered that OL Ethan White and CB Ethan Pouncey have suffered injuries that will keep them out of the season opening game against Mississippi on Saturday.
White, a sophomore who was expected to start at center, injured his knee and underwent surgery earlier in camp. Mullen said he expects White back with the team shortly.
Pouncey, a true freshman from Winter Park, FL, underwent hip surgery and will miss the entire season. Pouncey was a 4-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class.
In addition to these two, the Gators will be without freshman defenders Lamar Goods (foot) and Fenley Graham (broken arm).
Florida opens the season at Mississippi on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for noon (ET) and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
