Dan Mullen and the Florida coaching staff continue to add depth along the defensive line as they’ve added their second transfer in as many weeks to shore up a perceived weakness heading into the 2021 season.
Former Auburn DT Daquan Newkirk announced his decision to transfer to Florida just days after entering the transfer portal.

The 6’3, 317 lb Orlando native started ten games for Auburn in 2020, recording 28 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks on the year.
Newkirk will enroll at Florida as a graduate-transfer and will be immediately eligible, regardless of the NCAA’s transfer policy.
Newkirk is the second defensive lineman to announce his transfer to Florida after Antonio Shelton transferred from Penn State earlier this month.
