BSB: Eleven Run Sixth Inning Dooms Gators vs Tennessee

Despite the Gators being in the position to win their first SEC series since the end of March, Tennessee put up 11 runs in the sixth inning, proving too much to handle. Florida loses 16-3 in seven innings with Caglianone suffering his first loss on the mound this season.

Back in the leadoff spot for the Gators, Kurland got things going with a double. Despite struggling Friday, Evans showed no signs of that with a two run home run, giving the Gators an early 2-0 lead.

The Gators added on another in the third, making it 3-0.

From there, it was all Volunteers, scoring two in the fourth and then exploding for 11 in the sixth. They added on three more in the seventh, run ruling the Gators.

Gators lose 16-3 in seven innings. They fall to one game above .500 on the season, 24-23, 10-14 SEC. Jac Caglianone suffers his first pitching loss, now 5-1. He pitched five innings and had five strikeouts.

The Gators will take on USF at home 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Then, they will welcome Kentucky next weekend for their last regular season SEC series at home.
