
The Gators picked up a critical midweek win Tuesday night with their regular season quickly coming to a close. Out-hitting USF 11-5, the Gators got a 4-1 in victory to keep them above .500 on the season.
To get the Gators on the board Jac Caglianone hit his 27th home run of the season. Gators up 1-0 in teh first.
The Gators added on one run in both the second and the third to make it 3-0.
USF’s lone run of the game came in the sixth inning off of a solo home run to make it 3-1.
The Gators added on another from an RBI double from Shelnut to score Shelton. Gators up 4-1.
Final, UF wins 4-1. They improve to 25-23 on the season; they will need to stay above .500 on the season to be able to be eligible for the NCAA tournament.
Cade Fisher gets the win on the night after pitching 2.2 innings with one strikeout. Brandon Neely earned the save, coming in the ninth inning and picking up one strikeout. The pitching staff combined for seven strikeouts on the night, McNeillie leading with three and Jameson with two of his own.
The Gators will take on Kentucky for their last home series of the regular season. First pitch will be Friday at 6:30 p.m. With Brandon Neely now moved back to his closer position for the rest of the season, the weekend rotation will be shaken up again.
