Tampa- The Florida Gators soccer team played at South Florida’s Corbett Stadium in front of more than 1,400 fans for their final preseason tune up. The Gators defeated the USF Bulls 2-1 behind goals from junior Gabby Seiler and sophomore Samantha Chung.
The Gators outshot USF 16-5. Seiler scored in the 33rd minute to give UF a 1-0 lead. The lead would last until the 60th minute when Chung capitalized and doubled the Gators’ advantage.
USF got their lone goal from freshman Evelyne Vines in the 71st minute.
The Gators open the regular season this weekend. Iowa State will visit Gainesville on Friday at 7PM at Pressly Stadium.
Florida enters the season ranked number seven nationally.
