Rio De Janeiro, Brazil- According to multiple media outlets, former Gator and current USA swimmer Ryan Lochte was held up at gunpoint in Rio.
Lochte was invited to a party by Brazilian Thiago Pereria. Lochte and an American teammate took a cab to the party, but when the cab stopped for gas they were held up at knife and gunpoint. Lochte’s mother said to USA Today that his wallet was taken.
Reports are that Lochte is now safe at the Team USA swimming base.
Lochte won gold in the 4X200M Freestyle relay in these Olympic games and is the most decorated Gator in Olympic history.
