FINAL: FLORIDA 3, UCF 2

Gainesville, FL-  The Florida Gators soccer team defeated the University of Central Florida Knights 3-2 at James G. Pressly Stadium on Sunday night.  The Gators improved to 6-2 on the season while UCF fell to 5-4.  UCF entered on a four game winning streak, but Florida put that to rest.

The Gators dominated the first half of play managing to outshoot the Knights 7-4 and scoring the only goal of the first half.  Pamela Begic scored the first goal at the 32:59 mark.  Savannah Jordan scored the second goal of the game for Florida when she scored on a one touch shot off a pass from Mayra Pelayo.  The goal was Jordan’s 72nd of her career.  Jordan is now all alone in second place on Florida’s all-time scoring list.  UCF scored the next two goals as Morgan Ferrara scored her third goal of the season.  UCF tied the game up with a goal from Bridget Callahan off a corner kick.  The game winning goal came off the foot of Samantha Chung in the 88th minute.  Chung took a shot from the top of the box which deflected off the post and got in behind UCF keeper Vera Varis.
