The Gators ace is expected to be ready for the season opener.
GAINESVILLE, FL- Baseball America is reporting that Florida ace Alex Faedo underwent arthoscopic surgery on both of his knees in early September.
Though Faedo will not participate in Florida’s fall program, he is expected to be recovered in time for the Gators season opener in February. Baseball America also indicated that Faedo was up and walking without crutches.
The 6-5 220 LB Faedo is expected to be the Gators ace this season. He was 13-3 with a 3.18 ERA in 104.2 innings last season. More impressive was his line of 133 strikeouts to 21 walks. Faedo is expected to be a first round pick in the 2017 MLB draft.
Faedo participated with the USA Baseball collegiate team in the summer and posted a 3-0 record and a .056 ERA.
