FINAL: FLORIDA 16, LSU 10

BATON ROUGE, LA-  The Florida Gators entered Saturday’s game against LSU knowing the stakes.  A win meant another trip to the SEC Championship game in Atlanta.  Florida also knew that it wouldn’t be easy.  The Gators were playing without starting quarterback Luke Del Rio and two starters from the offensive line.  Florida was also missing numerous key players on the defensive side of the ball, including their top three tacklers.
Florida’s defense was spectacular when they needed it most.  On fourth-and-one, with only three seconds left on the clock, a huge defensive stop secured the Gators trip to Atlanta.  LSU RB Derrius Guice was stopped by the Gators defensive line as he attempted to jump across the line of scrimmage.

Florida struggled offensively most of the game, but in the third quarter, Austin Appleby found freshman WR Tyrie Cleveland streaking.  Cleveland got by one defender, managed to keep himself inbounds, and sprinted to the end zone.  The play went for 98 yards.

Florida found a lot of success in the fourth quarter with the running game.  On Florida’s first drive of the fourth quarter, Jordan Scarlett carried the ball 12 times and the offense was able to chew up a ton of time, and Florida found itself in the lead.  On the ensuing kickoff, Guice fumbled the ball, but Florida made some questionable choices with time management, and allowed LSU a final chance.
