It has been well documented that Florida has struggled in the 2017 recruiting cycle. Florida has at least a dozen visitors on official visits this weekend, and they were in attendance for Florida’s men’s basketball game against Vanderbilt.
Head coach Jim McElwain came out to midcourt and made the following proclamation:
“I’ll tell you something…what a great crowd, it’s because of the energy every day that we were able to go undefeated in the Swamp and able to go to Atlanta back to back years.”
“And because of you guys, when we get back to Atlanta next season, we’re going to kick the door down! Thank you for all you do! Chomp, Chomp!”

McElwain’s Gators have played Alabama in the last two SEC Championship games, both resulted in one-sided Crimson Tide victories.
Florida is looking to finish strong with the 2017 recruiting cycle. National Signing Day is February 1. Florida has this weekend and next weekend to lock up commitments, and make an impression on recruits.
Florida has a tough schedule in 2017, but the toughest games are home games. Florida will play Tennessee, LSU, Texas A&M, and Florida State at home. Florida also plays neutral site games against Michigan (in Dallas) and Georgia (in Jacksonville).
