Florida right handed pitcher Alex Faedo was named the SEC’s Pitcher of the Week for his performance on Thursday against South Carolina.
Faedo pitched 8.2 innings while only allowing three hits to the #18 Gamecocks. Faedo walked four in the appearance, but managed to strike out nine South Carolina hitters during the Gators 1-0 victory on Thursday.
This is the second time that Faedo has earned the SEC weekly pitching honor. Faedo has a 6-1 record on the year and carries a 2.47 ERA.
Faedo and the Gators will be at Georgia this weekend for a three game series starting Friday evening.
