Heisman Trophy winner. Two-time National Champion. NFL First round draft pick. NFL playoff game winner (as a starting quarterback).
Of all the accomplishments of Timothy Richard Tebow, perhaps his latest is the most impressive.
At thirty years old, Tebow was named an All-Star in the Double-A Eastern League. Tebow is a prospect in the New York Mets organization with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies and has been lauded for his work ethic.
Tebow is in his second year of professional baseball and has found his groove. While hitting at a .261 clip for the year, he has slashed .318/.357/.455 in June. Tebow hadn’t played baseball since his junior year in high school before holding a tryout in front of all thirty teams in August of 2016.
Players, managers, and scouts are now saying that Tebow has the look of a professional baseball player. This is a far cry different from even spring training when many believed he was overmatched and didn’t deserve to be promoted to Double-A ball.
The Eastern League All-Star game will be played Wednesday, July 11 at 7:00 PM. For more information on the All-Star festivities, click here.
