The Florida Gators picked up a commitment from an in-state prospect on Sunday.
OLB Jesiah Pierre, a 6’2, 220 lb prospect from Mount Dora, announced his commitment to Florida via Twitter.

Pierre is the #42 ranked OLB and the #653 overall prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle.
Pierre had been committed to Miami for nearly two years before decommitting in May.
Pierre has been on campus for three unofficial visits, including Junior Day in February, since landing the Gators offer January 22.
Pierre has made 131 tackles and recorded 4.5 sacks in the last two years according to 247Sports. In addition, Pierre has forced seven fumbles and recovered six.
Pierre also had offers from Miami, North Carolina, Mississippi, and East Carolina.
UPDATE: After rumors of the coaching staff not accepting Pierre’s commitment, head coach Dan Mullen did retweet Pierre’s tweet, indicating that he has accepted Jesiah Pierre’s pledge to the program.
