The wait is over. Florida WR Justin Shorter has been granted immediate eligibility and will be able to suit up with his teammates on September 26 at Mississippi. Shorter made the announcement via his Instagram story.
Shorter transferred to UF from Penn State earlier this year, electing to sign with the Gators on National Signing Day.
The 6’4, 226 lb prospect was the No. 1 ranked WR in the 2018 recruiting cycle. At Penn State, Shorter caught 15 passes for 157 yards.
Shorter joins a WR room that looks stacked on paper despite losing four players to the NFL from a year ago. In addition to Shorter, Trevon Grimes, Kadarius Toney and Jacob Copeland lead the way. That list doesn’t even include TE Kyle Pitts, who burst onto the scene in 2019.
Florida opens the 2020 season at Ole Miss on September 26 with kickoff slated for noon.
