Photo via SEC Media Portal released their latest 2021 MLB mock draft on Wednesday and the Florida Gators were represented with a selection in the first round.

Gators centerfielder Jud Fabian is projected to be selected with the No. 19 pick by the Toronto Blue Jays.

“Fabian has overcome severe swing-and-miss issues earlier in the season to challenge for the NCAA Division I home run lead while remaining one of the best college athletes available, so he has played his way back into the first round.”

The Ocala, FL native has slugged 20 homers and driven in 46 runs while hitting at a .252 clip.

Additionally, Fabian has an insane amount of leverage despite his strikeout rate and lower than desired average. Fabian still has two years of eligibility (thanks to 2020 Covid season), he enrolled early, so his age wouldn’t be older than next year’s class, and his brother Deric is a member of the UF 2021 signing class.

Head coach Kevin O’Sullivan has stated numerous times that Fabian is one of the true five-tool players he’s coached.

Note: Florida signee Andrew Painter (RHP, Fort Lauderdale) is projected to be selected with the No. 22 pick by the Chicago White Sox.
