Florida head coach Dan Mullen revealed on Monday that transfer RB Demarkcus Bowman will be granted immediate eligibility for the 2021 season. Mullen made the announcement during SEC Media Days in Hoover, Alabama.
Bowman announced his decision to transfer to Florida in October after appearing in two games for the Clemson Tigers. In those two contests, the Lakeland, FL native rushed for 32 yards on nine carries.
Bowman was a five-star recruit in the 2020 recruiting cycle after rushing for more than 5,000 yards and 71 touchdowns in his high school career.
Bowman joins an experienced and deep offensive backfield that returns the top three rushers from a season ago (Damien Pierce, Malik Davis, Nay’Quan Wright) and includes former 5-star transfer Lorenzo Lingard (Miami).
Florida opens the season on September 4 against Florida Atlantic.
