The nation’s leading authority on college baseball, D1Baseball.com, has released their preseason Top 25 poll. Unsurprisingly, the Gators are once again ranked inside the top-ten, marking the third publication to place the Gators among the nation’s elite programs.

Collegiate Baseball News (2) and Perfect Game (8) are the other publications that have announced their preseason rankings, so far.

Florida’s high ranking likely comes from the returns of RHP Brandon Sproat and battery mate, catcher BT Riopelle as well as infielders Josh Rivera and Colby Halter.

Additionally, the Gators return OF Wyatt Langford, who tied a program record with twenty-six homers in 2022. Florida also brought in RHP Hurston Waldrep from Southern Miss to compliment Sproat in the weekend pitching rotation. Waldrep was a third team All-American a year ago.

Florida opens the season February 17 with a three games series against Charleston Southern.
