Last month, Florida head coach Billy Napier delayed his National Signing Day press conference an hour as he waited for QB Jaden Rashada’s national letter of intent to come through.

Less than a month later, it appears the five-star quarterback will never make it to campus. Tuesday evening, 247’s Brandon Huffman reported that Rashada has filed the necessary paperwork seeking a release from the NLI that was sent to Florida in December.

Rashada’s recruitment was a whilwind that saw him surprisingly commit to Miami in June before announcing a late night flip to Florida a month before signing day.

Rashada competed in the Under Armour All-American Game in Orlando and was expected to take the ride to Gainesville and enroll early for the Spring semester. However, Rashada never made it to campus and instead went back to California. The Orlando Sentinel’s Edgar Thompson reported that there was a snag with an NIL deal worth $13 million between Rashada and The Gator Collective.

It’s been quiet from Rashada’s camp since the All-American Game despite rumors running rampant on social media.

This is a developing story that will be updated as more information becomes available.
