MACON, Ga. – The no. 8 Florida Gators (6-3) got back in the win column on Wednesday with a convincing 15-6 win over the Mercer Bears (5-2).

The Gators were firing on all cylinders on both sides of the ball as they took an 11-2 lead into half-time to coast to a comfortable win.

Kaitlyn Davies had a hat-trick to lead the team in goals on the day. Emily Heller, Maggi Hall, Danielle Pavinelli and Emma LoPinto each netted two goals on the day. Madison Waters, Ava Tighe, Paisley Eagan and Tayler Warehime had one score apiece. 

The Gators dominated the draws controlled going 18 for 25. Liz Harrison led the team with 12.

Hall led the team with three assists on the day. LoPinto, Ashley Gonzalez and Waters each had one.

On the defensive side of the ball, Sarah Reznick and Elyse Finnelle combined to hold the Bears to only six goals. Reznick stopped eight shots, while Finnelle saved four.

Heller was all over the field; leading the team with five forced turnovers and five ground balls. Each of these were career-highs for Heller.

The Gators are back in action on Saturday against the Cincinnati Bearcats. The game is set to begin at 12 P.M. at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
