Florida head coach Jim McElwain said that Gators WR Brandon Powell will not be suspended for the first half of the upcoming game at Vanderbilt.
Powell was ejected against Tennessee after Volunteers defensive back Rashaan Gaulden flopped, baiting the refs into the call.

McElwain said the SEC reviewed the call and that Powell “was full go from Monday on.”

The SEC has implemented a rule that states any player that receives an ejection for personal fouls must be suspended for the first half of the following game. Each case can be overruled if the penalty is deemed to be unfair.

This is the second time a Florida player has escaped a first half suspension after an ejection.  OL Martez Ivey was not suspended for his role in being ejected against North Texas.
