COLUMBIA, SC- The Florida Gators defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks in women’s volleyball on Sunday in straight sets. The Gators were led by junior Rhamat Alhassan and senior Alex Holston as the duo combined for 27 points. The Gators improved to 14-2 and 4-1 in SEC action. South Carolina fell to 13-4 and 1-4 in SEC play.

Alhassan and Holston led the charge for Florida, which recorded 53 points to South Carolina’s 36. Florida won every team statistic, including recording ten more kills and five more blocks than their opponent. Alhassan recorded ten kills and six blocks. Allie Monserez, who started her collegiate career at South Carolina before transferring to Florida, again led the Gators in assists. Freshman Rachael Kramer contributed 8 kills and 5 blocks to the Florida effort.
