Lewis averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 21 games in 2020-21. Lewis was a SEC All-Freshman Team selection following the 2019-20 season and is known for his defensive acumen. In 51 career appearances with UF, he accumulated 69 steals and 58 blocked shots.
The New Jersey native is the second Gator to be selected in this year’s draft as point guard Tre Mann was taken by Oklahoma City with the 18th pick overall.
This is the first time since 2011 that multiple Gators were selected in a draft. In that draft, Chandler Parsons and Vernon Macklin both heard their names called.
