The Florida Gators picked up an important commitment from one of the top in-state prospects on the board Monday. Sharif Denson made his pledge to Florida known via social media late Monday evening.
The Jacksonville native is rated as a 4-star cornerback on the 247Sports composite. Denson is ranked No. 206 overall and the No. 24 corner in the nation in the 2023 class.
Leading the charge in recruiting Denson to Florida was DC Patrick Toney and secondary coach Corey Raymond. The Bartram Trail star had 39 offers that included Georgia, Florida State, and Miami.
Denson camped at Florida last week and ultimately chose to pledge after the Gators gained two commitments over the weekend.
Florida’s class now stands nine deep and ranks No. 28 in the nation, according to 247Sports. Eight of the Gators’ commitments are from in-state prospects.
