Florida outfielder Wyatt Langford was officially named to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Tuesday. Langford spent the last week auditioning for the spot among the nation’s top retuning players.

Langford was selected from a pool of fifty or so players that completed in five intra-squad scrimmages before the cuts came. Twenty six players made the cut.

The Collegiate National Team will travel to Haarlem, Netherlands and compete from July 8-15 against teams from Japan, Italy, Cuba, the Netherlands, and Curacao in group play.

Langford, who hails from Trenton, FL, burst onto the scene with a huge sophomore season. Langford led the Gators with a .355 batting average, 91 hits, and 63 RBI. He hit an SEC-leading 26 homers as well.
